A hundred acres of creek, marsh, woodland, and restored prairie on the edge of Boerne — one of the oldest land-conservation efforts in the Hill Country, and an easy, unhurried place to walk.
The preserve grew out of a community effort in the early 1990s to protect the marshland along Cibolo Creek, and it has expanded steadily since into a working model of Hill Country conservation.
No. The trails and grounds are free to visit, open seven days a week from 8am to dusk. Donations are welcome and some special events are ticketed.
Leashed dogs are welcome on the main trails. Bring water in summer, as shade is partial and Hill Country afternoons get hot.
Boerne is the natural base, five minutes away. Cabins and guesthouses in town are managed by Backroads Hill Country, in business since 2001.
