Bordered by the cypress-lined banks of Cibolo Creek, Boerne City Park serves as the largest public park in the city and a starting point for the paved Cibolo Trail.

The 125 acres of land that became Boerne's first park was purchased in 1965 with the assistance of a federal grant. A city Recreation Committee was organized in 1969 to develop a master plan for the space. Today, Boerne City Park is the largest park in the city and holds the designation of a 2025 Lone Star Legacy Park from the Texas Recreation and Park Society.
